9/11 Widow and Active Advocator Died in Plane Crash

Beverly Eckert, widow of a 9/11 victim was among 50 people who died when a Continental Connection commuter aircraft crashed in a suburban village uptown hill of New York State, killing all passengers onboard and one person on the ground.

Ms Eckert is one of the active advocators of Peaceful Tomorrows, Voice of Sept11 groups who also lead other 9/11 families whose lives was changed after the September 11 tragedy. Last week she met President Obama at the White House on a brief discussion meeting along with the rest of 9/11 families.

Right after President Obama knew that Ms Eckert was one of the passengers of that plane, He single-mentioned her name and said “Tragic events such as these remind us of the fragility of life, and the value of every single day. One person who understands that well was Beverly Eckert who was on that flight whom I met just a few days ago...Beverly lost her husband on 9/11, and became a tireless advocate for those families whose lives were forever changed on that September day. She was an inspiration to me and to so many others, and I pray that her family finds peace and comfort in the hard days ahead”.

Ms Eckert took the Continental Connection Flight 3407 from Newark, New Jersey, When it went down at 10:20pm eastern time on Thursday while preparing to land at Buffalo-Niagara Airport state of New York. She’s heading to Buffalo celebrate and commemorates her husband’s 58th birthday and to establish a scholarship in his name at the high school where they met.

President Obama’s statement was a clear insight that I hope he deeply understood, about the importance and the value of life for each American and for the rest of the people of all nations, the fragility of time to meet the result, the action needed and the expectation of his capacity to lead the American people. Beverly Eckert showed and left the meaning of the passion of commitment, tirelessly looking for justice and peace of those who died in 9/11.

It is a clear message not just for President Obama but for all of us who value the life we hold each day that at any moment without notice or warning, with an instant tragic event like this, we don’t hold anything but to leave the legacy of precious time. To do what is right and live the life as it last.

Our sympathy to the families of those 50 people who died.
